A service will be held for Jane Cain at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at Hilliard Funeral Home, with visitation starting at 1:00 p.m. She will be laid to rest next to her husband, Jerry at Fairway Garden of Memories Cemetery.
Amerylis Jane White Cain was born November 2, 1935 in Grand Saline, Texas to the late Clinton White and Ruby Maurine Ray White. She attended school in Grand Saline until her senior year, at which time her family moved to Tyler. She finished school at John Tyler H.S., and married Jerry Cain on May 27, 1955. She had been a resident of Van most of her life, also living in Tyler and Garland for some time. She was a homemaker; she enjoyed sewing, cooking, family gatherings, puzzles and porch visits with family and friends. She was a member of Pruitt Baptist Church for many years, and made many friends while working on the hospitality committee, providing meals for church activities. She was later a member of Main Street Baptist Church in Grand Saline.
Mrs. Cain passed away at the age of 84 on May 31, 2020 in Van. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Cain (2014); parents, Clinton & Maurine White; parents-in-law, Lloyd & Corene Cain; sister and brother-in-law, Betty & Jack Hinds; sister-in-law, Ann White; and son-in-law, Rick Jones.
She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Jones Pruitt; son and daughter-in-law, Steve & Deborah Cain of Cooper; brother, Kenneth White (Nelleene) of Dallas, Lynn White (Murl) of Tyler, and Jerry White (Vickie) of Sherman; eight grandchildren, Jennifer, Kelly, Kristin, Tamera, Jack, Vinzenzo, Seth, Adam, Jasmine, Hailee, and Giovanni; great-grandchildren, Evan, Bentley, Easton and Bryson; and numerous nieces and nephews, bonus grandchildren, and many very special friends.
