William Bill Henry Davis, Jr., 95, of Flint, Texas, died and went home to be with Jesus on May 19, 2020. Bill was born in Wyatt, Louisiana, on November 17, 1924.
Bill fondly remembered his childhood in rural Jackson parish Louisiana where his family farmed for themselves and for a living. Upon the bombing of Pearl Harbor, he and his brother, Robert, wanted to serve their country and fight the enemy at hand. He enlisted in the U.S. Marines and was a recipient of the Purple Heart, having served in the Pacific during WWII. Bill was a longtime resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where he got married, raised his family and retired from Uniroyal Chemical Company. He became a believer in Jesus when he and his family attended a Billy Graham Crusade in Baton Rouge. He was a member of Green Acres Baptist Church upon his death. He loved his family, loved to help people and was a country boy to the end. He always looked forward to when the Lord would call him home for Suppertime.
Preceding Bill in death were: his brother, Robert Davis; his parents Willie Wyatt Davis and William Henry Davis, Sr; his wife of 56 years, Beulah Bookie Preising Davis; and his sister Edwina Davis Pool.
Survivors include his daughter, Cheri Ann Davis; son, Lance Stacy Davis (wife, Colleen) and their children Brennan Wyatt Davis and Katelyn Davis Sliwinski; great-granddaughters Camilla Grace Sliwinski and Avery Kate Sliwinski; and brother Lewis Davis (wife, Elizabeth). He was a beloved cousin and uncle to a many nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank Hospice of East Texas for the loving, dignified and compassionate care he received from them. In lieu of flowers, please send any memorial gifts to the Louisiana Baptist Childrens Home or Hospice of East Texas.
