Benita Blanche Porter Rose was born May 9, 1935 in Trinity County, Texas. She had been a resident of Hideaway for 35 years. She worked as a legal secretary and belonged to the Mary Tyler Chapter NSDAR. She helped organize the Crazy Bridge Party and Fish Fry at Funtier Park. She belonged to the Book Review Club, Bridge Club, and loved line dancing.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Rose; parents, Milo & Blanche Porter; grandson, Joseph Alfano; and stepson, Alan Rose.
Survivors include her three children, Robert Mulvany (Beverly), Karen Alfano (Frank), and Kathy Jackson (Harvey); stepdaughter, Laura Bisone (Giancarlo); siblings, Patsy Raines, Gladney Owen (Bob), and John Porter (Faith); twelve grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorial Services will be held at Dunn Chapel Church of Christ, 1212 Bethlehem Rd. (FM 706), Lufkin, Texas 75904 (936-637-3770) on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at 1:00 pm.
