A memorial service will be held for Valeria Marshall at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 7, 2020 at Union Chapel Methodist Church.
Valeria "Val" Watson Marshall was born November 23, 1933 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Her parents were John Watson and Beulah Cooper Watson who preceded her in death. Raised in Lake Charles, Louisiana she spent her adult life in Texas.
Val loved her family, friends, neighbor Stan Fantich, her dogs, and her Dallas Cowboys. She also loved all sports and loved to dance. She liked to be outdoors either camping or fishing. Prior to passing she was watching the Super Bowl and cheering on Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs. She also loved her church family at Union Chapel United Methodist Church, where she attended regularly and played the piano. Before retirement, she worked as a 2nd grade teacher and was living in Farmers Branch, Texas. After retirement, she moved to Van, Texas where she lived the remainder of her life.
Valeria passed away at the age of 86 on February 3, 2020. She was married to Larry Marshall who passed away in 1995. She is also preceded in death by her son, Travis Rosson who passed in 1997; her brother, Clyde Watson; and her sister, Mildred Sellers.
She is survived by her daughters, Kathy and husband David Hill of Quinlan, TX and Rhea and husband Travers Rodden of Van, TX; sisters, Frankie Cooper of McKinney, TX and Betty Hutchison of Kentucky; six grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and friend and neighbor, Stan Fantich.
