Hazel Vern Pamplin
March 17, 1930 - February 21, 2019

Hazel Vern Pamplin was born March 17,1930 in Red River County, Texas. She moved to Dallas County area as a young child and grew up in Carrollton, Texas. She graduated from Carrollton High School early with honors at the top of her class and continued her education at Paris Junior College. She graduated with an Associates Degree in Medical Records Librarian. Vern went on to work as a Medical Records Transcriptionist in Lamar County. She moved to Tyler in 1972 where she continued her career in medical records. She retired as Director of Medical Records from Mother Francis Hospital.
Vern was a devoted member of Azalea Gardens Church of God in Tyler. Her hobbies included knitting, crocheting, reading, cooking and spending time with her family and friends. Vern was a kind-hearted, spiritual women who was devoted to her family and God. She was beloved by all that knew her and was referred to as Saint Vern by her closest family members.
Vern is preceded in death by her grandparents, Charles and Cordlia Wilson and her parents, Floyd and Velma Pamplin. She leaves behind a sister, Shirley Pamplin Thompson of Longview,TX; a brother and sister-in-law, Gene and Linda Pamplin of Paris, TX; 3 nieces, Debbie Mayo of Tyler, TX, Amy Gay of Marshall, TX, and Vanessa Pamplin Armstrong of Reidsville, North Carolina; nephew Ty Thompson of Longview, TX; great nieces Amy Elaine Milam, Leah Gay and Kate Thompson; great nephews Lucas Mayo, Corey Gay and Trent Thompson; great-great nieces Hannah Tenny, Mileah Mayo and Megan Milam; great-great nephews Trevor Mayo, Aiden Mayo and Ethan Pamplin.
Memorial services will be held March 1, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Azalea Gardens Church of God in Tyler with Rev. C.W. Goforth presiding. There will be a fellowship immediately following the memorial service in which all family and friends are invited to attend. Vern will be laid to rest on March 2,2019 in Woodland Cemetery
