John Allen Davis
April 11, 1956 - September 1, 2018

John Allen Davis beloved brother and friend passed away peacefully September 1st, 2018 at his home in Longview, Texas after a hard-fought battle with Parkinsons disease. John was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana in 1956 along with his twin sister Candy. His childhood was spent enjoying art, riding a unicycle and disco roller skating. After high school, John joined the Marines. He quickly realized his true calling was to become a hair dresser. Due to his workaholic nature, he had numerous loyal clients in Longview and Shreveport/Bossier for forty years. John was a kind and generous man with a dark sense of humor, a quick wit, and an adventurous spirit. This allowed him to make personal connections with his clients and friends that lasted decades. His genuine passion was helping others. John accredited Alcoholics Anonymous with saving his life 35 years ago. He regularly attended AA attending meetings and sponsored hundreds of folks on their journey of sobriety. John delighted in working out to perfect his body and putting those results on display for the public. His family, especially his twin sister Candy and niece Jordan as well as his many friends, cared for and comforted him as his illness progressed. John had a special relationship with all the animals he had over the years, most notable, his favorite chihuahua Peppy who ate better meals than most people. John will be missed dearly by his friends and family and his absence will be felt in the communities he was such an integral part of.
John is preceded in death by his father and mother, Rexford and Pauline Davis, and his Nephew and namesake John R.B. Corpier.
He is survived by his twin sister Candy Davis and husband Bill Johnson, Baby sister Tammy Davis, Oldest brother Chris Davis and wife Sandy, and slightly older brother Ross Davis and wife Robyn, his special niece Jordan Corpier and fiance Justin Gildon, many other nieces, nephews and loving friends.
Special Thank You to the friends of John who have shown an outpouring of love and compassion, notably Griff, Thomas, Sybil, Winona and Tamara, as well as the AA community. A memorial service to celebrate Johns life will be held on Saturday September 8th at 2:00p.m. at Clean Air Group 506 7th st Longview, TX 75601.
In lieu of flowers, we would ask that donations in person or online be made in Johns name to the Longview Animal Care and Adoption Center PO Box 1952 Longview Tx 75606 (903)297-PETS
