A memorial service for Kelly Malone will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at Hilliard Funeral Home, Van, Texas.
Kelly Earl Malone was born December 24, 1926 in the Galena Community of Smith County, Texas. He had been a resident of Hideaway since 1982, formerly living in Arlington. He was a longtime member of United Aerospace Workers, local 848, where he was honored as National Man of the Year in 1970 and served multiple terms as chairman of the grievance committee. He retired from Vought Aircraft in 1982, where he worked as an aeronautics engineer for 32 years. He enjoyed country and gospel music, playing guitar and singing, politics, fishing and woodworking.
Mr. Malone passed away at the age of 92 on April 7, 2019 in Tyler. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cleburne and Maude Owen Malone, and brother, Wylie Malone.
Survivors include his wife of 73 years, Norma Malone of Hideaway; three children, Kelly Malone, Jr. of Hideaway, Michael Malone (Shermaine) of Granbury, and Lori Christopher (Mark) of Grand Prairie; brother, Bill C. Malone (Bobbie) of Wisconsin; three grandchildren, Jared Christopher (Stephanie), Erin Malone and Shelby Christopher; and three great-grandchildren, Cole Christopher, Simone Christopher and Mia Christopher.
