Cremation is an economical alternative to traditional burial. It is one of the oldest means of final disposition. Cremation allows many unique ways to pay tribute to the life of a loved one. The family may choose, independently, what fits their needs the best. Entombment in a permanent location, such as a columbarium niche may be selected. In addition, the remains may be scattered in a cemetery scattering garden, buried, scattered out to sea, or put in some other special location. The decision to scatter should be chosen carefully in that it is irreversible. Cremains may also be kept in an urn to keep at home, divided up amongst family, or even put in a special locket to wear.

Since we own and operate the crematory, we know that every cremation is done with the utmost care and respect. We feel that it is our duty to provide reassurance to the people that opt for cremation. Fairway Crematory is located at the back of Fairway Garden of Memories Cemetery, Hwy 16 West in Van. Established in 1991, it is owned and operated by Keith Hilliard. • We are meticulous in the packaging of cremains. They are tagged and sealed in a bag, within a temporary urn, within a box, all of which are labeled with the name and funeral home of the deceased, assuring security.
