Leon Hughes

Funeral services for Leon Hughes, 71, Van, are scheduled for 10:00 am, Monday, August 2, at Hilliard Funeral Home with Rev. Shelby Davidson officiating and Dan Boggs assisting. Burial will be in Union Chapel Cemetery.
He went to be with his Lord and Savior on July 31, 2010 in Tyler.
Eldon Leon Hughes was born December 28, 1938 in Burkburnett, Texas to the late Ernest Eugene and Georgia Hughes. Leon served in the U S Army. He was a DPS officer for several years. He was the owner of Hughes Restaurant Equipment and Supply until his retirement. Leon enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially drinking coffee at the Dinner Bell with his coffee buddies. He was a member of Van Church of Christ.
Survivors include his loving wife, Sandra Hughes of Van; sons and daughters-in-law, Kaleum "Boots" Hughes and wife, Cindy of Van, Jeff Hughes and wife, Jeanette of Ben Wheeler; daughters, Tracy Moczygemba of Van and Cathy Hughes of Muskogee, OK; brother, Robert Hughes of Tyler; 13 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Tye Hughes, Justin Moczygemba, Reeve Hughes, David Dodson, R. T. Bridges, Larry Reynolds and Hugh Hartgraves.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Sunday night at the funeral home.
